Bernhoven chooses SmartMed Hospital

At Bernhoven, the hospital for the Oss - Uden - Veghel region, the new medication management system 'SmartMed Hospital' has gone live. This system is a solution for managing medication by doctors, nurses and the pharmacy. SmartMed Hospital went live to make the medication process better, more user-friendly and safer.

Criteria for the purchase of the new medication management system were to support expected developments such as the VIPP B1 and B2 (a Dutch subisdy programme), MFB's, FMD, MP9 and MedMij. A good integration with the EPD (electronic patient file) of Bernhoven also had to be realized and user-friendliness was a point of attention.

Unique solution in the cloud

The end user and the patient are central in SmartMed Hospital 3.1. With this new application Bernhoven can control, verify and execute the entire medication process around the patient. The prescription of the medication by the doctor, monitoring and logistic handling by the pharmacy and the administration of the medication by the nurse or the patient are part of this process. With this unique solution, all medication information of a patient is recorded centrally from one platform in a secure cloud environment. The system is linked to the LSP (healthcare connection point) and includes the patient's historical and current medication data. Management information is also available in the form of interactive reports and dashboards. The application improves the exchange of information and collaboration between different healthcare providers and their patients.
