Pharmacy software supplier CareSoft has been taken over by SmartMed. With effect from 14 June 2019 all activities in the field of developing and maintaining software applications for the pharmacy market in the Netherlands will be carried out as part of SmartMed. The acquisition is a logical next step within SmartMed's strategy to realize a modern and innovative software platform that specializes in solutions for the complex domain of medication management.
CareSoft is with its AIS (Apotheek Informatie Systeem) "FarmaSys" an established name as a software supplier for the community pharmacy and expects with the acquisition by SmartMed to offer its users a successful future. "We are very pleased with this acquisition because SmartMed ensures that CareSoft's product and team retain a future in the Dutch pharmacy market" said Rianne Wubs, CEO CareSoft. "The acquisition not only provides CareSoft users with continuity, but also a strategy and development plan. With SmartMed we have found a party that fits our pragmatic culture, focused on the needs of our customers." For now, CareSoft will continue to operate under its own name and all employees will be retained for the organization.

The acquisition of CareSoft, including the wishes and experiences of the CareSoft users, makes an important contribution to achieving this goal.
SmartMed, founded in 2016, focuses on developing a specialized medication management software platform in the Netherlands for hospitals, institutions and pharmacies. Recently, the company launched and implemented its solution SmartMed Hospital at Gelre hospitals in Apeldoorn and Zutphen.
